Botanical Named Luffa cylindrica is mainly named Sponge gourd in English .This plant been there in Asia and Africa For ages. It needs very low water levels and high sun shines might be the reason for it’s habitats .in the 16th century an European botanists were introduced to the plant from its cultivation in Egypt. It’s like a cucumber in shape and may grow like to be 30 CMS. The young fruit is cooked while ripen fibrous fruit is mainly used to make bath scrub sponges. This plant is used to treat Amenorrhea, Skin diseases in Ayurveda.
