MARKICE MOORE ACTORS INTENSIVE CLASS PROJECT:
As per Zoom, Students will do a performance Exercise with a partner and send it my way for feedback.
HOW TO: Students must present a performance via Zoom, opposite a partner. Student must choose scripts given on in the “scene study emergency pack”
PURPOSE: To get you to be affected by each other, to begin to get comfortable auditioning post covid, to develop effective listening skills to make for a better scene.
By the end of this class students should be confident enough to begin navigating their journey their person journey into becoming a working actor.
Actors will know the current terminology used in the film/tv business
Actors will get tips on “setiquette” which is a term used to refer to the proper way to conduct yourself on a film/tv set.
Actors will receive a program assignment that they must complete with a partner at the end of the course.
Actors should have the:
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work as a team and also individually.
- Good time keeping skills.
- Reliability.
- Ability to learn lines/directions.
- Confidence in being in front of an audience.
- Experience in improvisation/ad-libbing.
Acting is a business, and when you walk into an audition, you are selling a product: Yourself. You need to know how to clearly package the product so that prospective buyers (casting directors) will know that it’s right for their project. For actors, this means having a realistic understanding of what you can offer, including your physical characteristics like height and weight, plus the way your voice sounds, and any special skills you have in addition to acting.
